Recently, it has been a common phenomenon that a number of people, especially youngsters, are accustomed to using electronic devices to type instead of writing Chinese characters. In their opinion, it’s convenient and time-saving to type. However, I believe we should not abandon Chinese handwriting.
最近，许多人，尤其是年轻人，习惯于使用电子设备打字而不是书写汉字，这已经成为一种普遍的现象。在他们看来，打字既方便又省时。但是，我认为我们不应该放弃汉字书写。
First, writing Chinese characters is conducive to fostering good character traits because it can calm people down, thus leaving room for learning and thinking. In contrast, with smartphones or computers, only by typing in phonetic alphabets can people choose the correct characters, which in the long run will weaken their memory of Chinese characters. Second, Chinese characters are symbols of Chinese culture. By writing Chinese characters, one can experience the charm of Chinese culture and enhance cultural identity.
首先，写汉字有助于培养良好的性格，因为它可以使人平静下来，从而留下学习和思考的空间。相比之下，在智能手机或电脑上，只有通过输入语音字母，人们才能选择正确的字符，这从长远来看会削弱他们对汉字的记忆。第二，汉字是中国文化的象征。通过书写汉字，可以感受中国文化的魅力，增强文化认同感。
In conclusion, the lifelike Chinese characters are gradually being ignored because of over-reliance on the keyboards. It seems to be difficult for us to dismiss the easy way of typewriting in the information age, yet we shouldn’t forget the characters which have been passed down from thousands of years ago.
总之，由于对键盘的过度依赖，栩栩如生的汉字正逐渐被忽视。虽然在信息时代，我们似乎很难放弃简单的打字方式，但我们不应该忘记几千年前流传下来的汉字。
